How to Cook a New York Strip Steak
Quite often when our family has guests in our home, my husband can make the Best Steak in the world.
He is often asked “How to Cook a New York Strip Steak to perfection” and he just smiles and never really gives away his secret.
After all, a great cook knows how to keep his audience coming back for more & more & more!
I, on the other hand, love to talk and share my knowledge with everyone around me.
In the past when I’ve worked with hundreds of ladies in the Home Party business Christmas was usually pretty good!
Lots of Customers! Lots of Hostesses! Lots and I mean LOTS of Sales!
Then came January. Typically the slowest month for the Party Business….but not in my group!
I worked with my awesome and amazing team to make sure they started out the yr with a Bang (no pun intended..lol) and they sure did.
When other teams were struggling (arrrggghhhh hate that word) MY team was Thriving.
Sure they had a few shows cancel or postpone, but they had plenty to cover that!
And when other teams were trying to ‘ReBuild’ in Feb……MY team consistently signed up new People, had high shows and kept their INCOME Rolling IN!? Why?
Because I taught them well!
I gave them Simple and Usable Tips/Strategies to do every Day!
Their shows CONTINUED well into January (then Feb…Mar…and April….amazing how that works!), their CUSTOMER/HOSTESS Base grew, and best of all…..so did their POCKETBOOKS! Ka-Ching!
Now my mission is to help other ladies, no matter what your home biz is!
These are the tips and encouragment I used with MY team for over 9 yrs! Now you can benefit too!
You can learn “How to cook a New York Strip Steak” in your business, and have people asking how you did it….you can just smile!

Inhale Positivity! Exhale Negativity!
I am a strong believer of the adage that “What GOES around COMES around!” That if we are a ‘positive’ person more ‘positve’ things keep happening in our lives (the same is true for the ‘negative’)
My dad comes to mind whenever I talk to people about this subject, for years his motto around our home was G.I.G.O. (Garbage In Garbage Out) and as a coach and teacher for over 38 years he really LIVED by this example.
For years people would ask me if Mr.Maley was my father? And since my father had a reputation of being a ‘strict teacher’ I’d always reply “yesssss” Read more
Self Sabotage
We have all found ourselves sabotaging ourselves. Most of the communication we participate in any given day is internal dialogue. At some point or another we have all said to ourselves “I’m not good enough” or “I don’t deserve this“. It’s not a good dialogue to have. Certainly this sort of communication with yourself is something to be changed.
Spam or Blam?
I recently just wrote an article for a Woman’s Monthly Newsletter to which I titled “Spam or BLAM!”
I guess the point I wanted to make is are you email driven? or personal contact driven.
Since I can’t physically talk to hundreds of my customers a week, I know the importance of sending out pertinent Newsletters and Emails that may help my clients even more…. but there is something about the personal touch too! Read more

Are you putting YOUR oxygen mask on first?
One of the most difficult things for many women is to take care of themselves first. That’s right, I said it! I look after me first.
Think back to your last airplane trip. You are on the plane and as it’s taking off the air host/ess shows you how to use a seat belt. Then what’s next? Read more
What do Your Choices Reflect?
A very long time ago, I had the opportunity to speak to a wonderful group of women for their monthly meeting.
Unknowingly the person I helped the most over the last twenty years has been MYSELF!
Since it was to a Ladies Bible study group I had no idea what to say…..fear of speaking in public (I was pretty young nearly 20 yrs ago), maybe sounding unintelligent to a group of ladies etc…
So my pastor’s wife said “Just speak from the heart”…we all would like to get to know you a bit better.
Once everyone was seated in my living room, I think there were about 18 ladies or so, I started my jittery speech.
The butterflies started, I felt ready to throw up, but as soon as I started speaking from my heart and being truly passionate about what I was saying, all that ‘Monkey Chatter’ left my head.
I asked everyone if they had a compact in their purses with a mirror and if they could pull them out. I had found several in my home for those who didn’t have one and pretty soon everyone was looking around expecting something spectacular to happen.
I told them to just take a few quiet moments and look deeply into that mirror…..
….after a few moments I then quietly said things like “Who is that woman you are looking at?”
“Who is she really?”
“Is she a mom? sister? grandmother? friend?”
I asked everyone to put down their mirrors as I kept mine up so that I could see my own reflection…..looking deeply into my own reflection I told myself (out loud) how beautiful I looked (a few people giggled at that one) what a great new mom I was….
….and then I repeated to my reflection several times “I LOVE YOU!” each with more and more FEELING!
I looked at each lady in the eye after I put my mirror down and asked who was uncomfortable with me saying that (they didn’t have to actually speak out loud)…the reason is we are all brought up with:
“Now think of others before yourself!” or how about “Pride goes before a fall!”
I then quoted from the Bible “Love your Neighbor as Yourself!”….everyone nodded not fully understanding where my vanity was taking this.
I then said, ‘If you truly cannot look in the mirror and tell Yourself you Love Yourself….how can you give that same love to a Neighbor!”
The room was very quiet and contemplative, and, as I said at the beginning of this story this is something that I’ve lived by for nearly 20 yrs…
“Loving myself and everything about me, Jody Maley, allows my love to overspill to my neighbors, my friends, my family, children and spouse!”

step Mother's Day
Since my dad was in the Army, we moved around a lot and usually didn’t live near either set of grandparents. So… growing up, on Mother’s Day, it was all about my mom. There are 6 kids in my family and my parents are still together after 55 years this year. We would all go to church, have a meal and the day would be all about my mom, an army wife, a mother to 6 kids, a choir singer, church board member, employee etc etc. My mom is an amazing lady and I still don’ t know how she is still sane after raising all 6 of us kids with all the moves and changes.
Now that I have my own kids, of course, I appreciate what she did all the more; the sacrifices made, the energy she put in and what she got in return (which kids don’t always understand ..not til they get older). She was the role model I had for raising a family. While she was very successful, but that model doesn’t exactly fit my family now. Read more
